It is of course difficult to determine for you and we really do not have an answer to this question. In terms of advice, it is important that the coffee is fresh and ground to the right setting. Additionally, the flavor of the coffee largely resides in the bean. However, adjusting the settings of the machine and the grinder can also lead to differences in taste.
You can store a new bag of coffee beans for about 2 months. Once the bag is opened, the coffee does age a bit faster. We prefer that the opened bag is finished within 2 weeks.
The biggest difference is flavor; as the roasting becomes darker, the acids in the coffee will decrease and the chocolate notes will increase.
This obviously completely depends on your personal taste. For that real Italian espresso, you often want a somewhat darker roast. To surprise yourself a bit more, you should try a light roast! Here, completely different flavors are released.
This is more of a personal taste choice. How we see it, a coffee under the cappuccino should be a bit stronger and more present. For this, you would want to go for a medium to dark roast.
