How do I blind filter? A question we often receive and therefore give some extra attention to. By performing the right maintenance, you significantly extend the lifespan of your machine and your coffee tastes much better throughout. How does the maintenance work and what do I need to do for it?
Blind filtering
For blind filtering and keeping your machine clean, you need a few products: Brew group cleaner, brew group brush and a blind filter. Also check out our maintenance set! Do you have these items at home? Great, then we can get started.
Step 0.5: Clean the brew group with the brew group brush.

Step 1: Replace your filter basket with a blind filter
Step 2: Scoop a bit of brew group cleaner and put it in your blind filter
Step 3: Insert the piston with the blind filter into your espresso machine
Step 4: Lift the lever and let the water flow for 10 seconds
Step 5: Wait 5 seconds and repeat step 4
Step 6: Repeat steps 4 and 5, 5 times.

Step 7: Now do steps 4-6 without the brew group cleaner
Step 8: Let the brew group run for a moment to clean it properly
Step 9: Brew an espresso and throw it away (so you don't get a soapy taste in your first shot after cleaning)
